Finland has announced it is to revise its regulations on waste disposal in a move to improve the treatment and reception of waste in ports and reduce the generation of marine litter and, in particular, the discharge of plastic into the seas.

The World Ocean Council (WOC) Sustainable Ocean Summit (SOS) is the annual gathering of the global Ocean Business Community dedicated to advancing private sector action on responsible use of the seas. With the theme of “Investing in Ocean Futures: Finance and Innovation for the Blue Economy”, the SOS 2019 will be the foremost international business conference dedicated to investment and innovation for ocean sustainable development.
