At this time, it is extremely important that the authorities responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of goods and people on board a vessel are fully aware of the contingency measures put in place by each EU member state and EFTA country. For this reason, EMSA has created a single point of reference which lists the information per country as supplied by them. This information is intended to guide, facilitate and protect the maritime transport supply chain and its workers. The European Commission has also issued guidance on the ‘green lanes’ and border management measures to safeguard health and ensure the availability of goods and essential services. This makes reference to travel restrictions, quarantine procedures and recognition of professional certificates of competence for transport workers including seafarers
