ISTANBUL, 27 September 2019
This meeting was kindly organised thanks to the support of our Member Kerem Kemerli, Managing Director of MEKE MARINE. Thanks to this initiative, Euroshore was introduced to a professional audience of shipowners, port reception facilities, operators and members of the ministry of transport.
The team was also kindly invited to meet Mrs. Sadan Kaptanoglu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, President of BIMCO and Owner of Kaptanoglu. All agreed on the huge challenges the shipowner community is facing, in particular with the enter into force of the sulphur cap legislation next 1st of January. This will be a very disruptive moment for the shipping industry. To face all challenges collaboration between all stakeholders is more than ever a crucial target in order to provide right solutions. Therefore, all agreed on the necessity to continue this dialogue next year.
This seminar was also the opportunity to meet Dr. Murat KORCAK from the ministry of transport and infrastructure. Dr. Korcak is also liaison officer with IMO and all were happy about this first contact.
