The shipping company Aida Cruises, Ports of Stockholm and the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) show how the wastewater is handled and purified on board cruise ships and in port.
Ports of Stockholm can receive wastewater from all cruise ships and at all piers and connect to the city's water treatment facilities. Eight out of ten cruise ships leave wastewater at Ports of Stockholm. Most cruise ships also have their own advanced purification systems on board. CLIA has 98 percent of the world's cruise lines as members.
